You must be organized!!!

If you want a cool way to get organized, I have found it. The Palm Tungsten E is one of the most affordable Palm Pilots (or PDA, personal digital assistants) on the market today and it is small, lightweight and loaded with features.

Do you have somewhere to be? Simply enter your appointments into your PDA and it's just like a regular calendar with so many more features! Entering text into your PDA is a snap with Palm's "Graffiti". Graffiti is a very easy way to enter text with the stylus (or digital pencil). Its just like handwriting but you do it by moving the stylus in the shape of a letter on the lower portion of the screen. The touch sensitive screen recognizes your motions and displays the corresponding letters! If you don't want to fool around with Graffiti, you can always use the pre-installed on screen keyboard and individually 'tap' in the letters you want to see. I prefer the Graffiti!! It's much more fun!

Just last night I watched Monica transfer her resume from our home computer to her Palm Tungsten E, so she can work on it during lunch. When she makes changes, she can just transfer the changes right back to the home computer so she can print it out. What a great thing to do!

It's even an MP3 player!

The Palm Tungsten E also comes with Real One Audio player, meaning you can transfer MP3 music files and turn your PDA into an MP3 player!!! The Tungsten E has an internal speaker or you can plug headphones into it.





The picture here shows the Real Audio Player program in use. The stylus can be used to click buttons such as play, stop, forward and reverse. You can also adjust the volume by sliding the stylus along the volume bar.


The Tunsten E also has an infrared sensor at the top so you can 'beam' documents to a co-worker or a friend. This came in handy one day when Monica had a photo that her friend wanted really badly. They placed their Tungsten E's near each other and before you know it, her friend had the picture as well!!

Not to sound like an old timer, but my first PDA sold for much more than Monica's and the screen only displayed black and white. The Tungsten E is in full color!!! You know what full color allows you to do??? That's right! You can download your favorite Cocker Spaniel pictures to your PDA and show them off at work, when a computer isn't available. The PDA comes with software that transfers files from your computer to your PDA, including numerous games. You can also transfer Word, Excel, and even PDF documents to your PDA for reading on the go.

Palm also offers a memory expansion card.


Santa just brought Monica the 128MB expansion card allowing her to carry more mp3's than I can on my mp3 player. The additional memory sure comes in handy if you use a lot of large documents or images. Even if you don't use large files, its nice to have a larger collection of mp3's on your PDA.
