What can you expect by using an online dating service
such as Match.com?
When you sign up for Match.com you will have the ability to browse anyone's personal profile and look at any of the many pictures they will have posted. This is the fun part!! You can look at all sorts of people and some people you will be suprised to recognize. I found many people that I went to high school with who remained in the area after graduation.
One great feature of Match.com is a feature called 'winks'. This allows you to 'wink' at another person without actually sending an email to them. You can set your account preferences to say how often you would like your 'winks' to be emailed to you. I had it set to once a week. Every Monday morning there would be an email with a few peoples picture saying something like, 'monica123 has winked at you. click here to view her profile'. This is a way for shy email people just to say that they are interested. You can then either wink back or just write them an email!
Match.com also has live chatrooms, so when you are browsing a persons profile, it will tell you whether they are online at the moment. If you have the nerve, you can click on chat and only if they choose, you can have a live internet chat session.
