The 10th annual March for the Animals will be taking place Sunday April 2, 2006 at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, Maryland. This event provides many exciting contests, games and a 1.5 mile walk-a-thon to support the Maryland SPCA. Last year, over 2000 people and their pets raised over $180,000 for the SPCA.

The Maryland SPCA is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping animals and people. It's main goal is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals. The SPCA accomplishes this goal through education, advocacy, active direct care, pet population control, and screened adoptions.

The SPCA is an open admission shelter. This means that the SPCA helps all pets including elderly, sick, and aggressive animals. These animals need the most help! The SPCA can find loving homes for otherwise abandoned animals.

Scooter will be taking part in the 1.5 mile walk-a-thon to support the MD SPCA and he would love your support!

If you are interested in making a small donation
to the MD SPCA in Scooter's name, email John at
scooter2@scooterthecocker.com for the address to mail your check. All checks must be made out to the Maryland SPCA. There is no minimum amount to donate. Scooter would be happy with $1.00! If Scooter raises $30.00, he will get a MD SPCA bandana which he will proudly display on his website for everyone to see! And of course, my camera will be snapping pictures left and right of all of the pets taking part in the walk. Keep checking the website in mid April for tons of March for the Animals pictures!

$11 pays for one feline leukemia test
$25 vaccinates 20 dogs for kennel cough
$43 provides flea treatment and heartworm protection for a dog
$300 pays for an animal’s care at our shelter until it is adopted. Includes vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, food, and care.

They need your help!
